The Responsible Tourism Scheme

All our facilities meet the standards of this scheme.

This scheme is managed by the Lake District Tourism and Conservation Partnership and Cumbria Tourist Board.

The Responsible Tourism Scheme recognises businesses that:
 

• Care for the environment
• Support local economy and community
• Promote local culture and services
• Invite client and employee involvement in Responsible Tourism.

Swarthmoor Hall meets the standards set by the scheme and has an Award Certificate on display.

We are particularly keen on recycling and now recycle paper, cardboard, glass, tins, aluminium foil, batteries, tetrapaks and hard household plastic including plastic milk and drinks bottles. Waste paper towels and napkins are composted along with other kitchen waste.
