Self Catering

Swarthmoor Hall has three self-catering units which are available all year round.

Short breaks are available, units can be booked from one to any number of nights. Please ask for details.

All units have fully fitted and equipped kitchens with hobs, ovens, microwave ovens and TV/VCRs. Bed linen and towels are included at no extra cost.

Unit 1 (Leopold Muller)

National Accessible Scheme level: 2 and as chemical free as we can make it.

Ground floor

Wheel chair friendly unit with gas central heating; entrance from courtyard.

Living room and kitchen/dining area with some lowered work surface; electric oven/hob, washer/drier, fridge –freezer.

Sitting area with high-backed easy chair.

Two twin bedrooms.
Shower room with roll in shower, non-slip floor and folding seat. Raised loo seat/grab rails.
Protected radiators in all rooms.

All doors widened for wheelchairs with appropriate turning circles.

Designated parking place by side of unit; path to unit suitable for wheelchair movement.

Lowered door handles and light switches.
Heightened plug points.
This unit is a low chemical use unit and may be suitable for people with chemical allergies.

Holiday unit with storage heating in main Hall, entrance from courtyard.

All units are pet free. Guide dogs for disabled people are accepted.
All units are non-smoking.
All units have linen supplied.
A charge for power and heating consumption is charged retrospectively from meter readings. (this is in line with our 'green policy')

PAYING FOR A SELF CATERING UNIT

A £50 non- returnable deposit is required on booking, with remainder paid 6 weeks before the event.

In the event of a cancellation by the hirer for whatever reason Swarthmoor Hall Committee reserves the right to charge a cancellation fee of up to 100% of the hiring fee, depending upon the notice given before the hiring date, on the following scale;

• More than 3 calendar months -----------------------------Deposit
• 3 calendar month to more than 1 calendar month ---------50%
• 1 calendar month to more than 1 week -----------------------75%
• 1 week or less---------------------------------------------------------100%
   

In the event of exceptional circumstances the Swarthmoor Hall Committee reserves the right to cancel bookings at any time and for any reason whatsoever without paying compensation or incurring liability. Deposits will be returned. Hirers are advised to seek their own holiday insurances.
